New Delhi: The annual budget will be presented tomorrow by the finance minister. Everyone has an eye on the Union budget because it covers people from all walks of life.
Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the economic survey for 2022–23 in Parliament on Tuesday. The economy is expected to grow between 6% and 6.8% in the following fiscal year, which begins on April 1, down from the 7% forecasted for the current year since a worldwide slowdown is likely to damage its exports.
The 6.8 percent signifies that India’s economy will continue to develop at the quickest rate among major economies in the upcoming fiscal year.
According to news agency Reuters, the government’s baseline projection for growth for 2023–2024 was 6.5 percent, with nominal growth—which accounts for inflation—forecast at 11 percent.
The survey report, which was tabled by Sitharaman in the parliament ahead of the annual budget on Wednesday, is mainly the government’s review of how the economy fared in the past year.
