ED questions Congress’s Mallikarjun Kharge in National Herald case

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate on Monday questioned senior Congress leader Mallikarjuna Kharge in connection with the National Herald corruption case, sources told news agency.

Kharge, Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha was summoned to appear before the ED with regard to the probe, they said.

His statement will be recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) as the agency wants to understand some issues in the investigation, officials said.

The controversy had started with the acquisition of shares of Associated Journals Ltd on February 26, 2011.

The inquiry in the corruption case linked to the Congress and the Gandhis has been going on for years.
