ED raids premises of Bihar Industries Minister Sameer Mahaseth

Bihar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday carried out raids at the premised of Bihar Industries Minister Sameer Mahaseth. The raids were conducted at Mahaseth's Patna residence as well as few other places.

Bihar: The Enforcement Directorate has taken action on corruption in Bihar. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday carried out raids at the premised of Bihar Industries Minister Sameer Mahaseth. The raids were conducted at Mahaseth’s Patna residence as well as few other places.

The Enforcement Directorate has raided many places including Patna of Industries Minister Sameer Mahaseth in Nitish government. Sameer Mahaseth, who joined the Grand Alliance government from RJD quota, has become MLA for the second time from Madhubani. He has also been a minister in the Bihar government before this.

According to reports, apart from raids at the minister’s premises, the Income Tax Department team also conducting searches at offices of Sakar Construction Company. Offices of the construction company located at Son Bhawan and another one at Heera Panna shop located at Dak Bungalow Chauraha in Patna were raided.

Mahaseth, active in politics since 1977, has also been a member of the Bihar Legislative Council from 2003 to 2009. In the year 1998, Sameer Mahaseth took over as the Director of ICAR. In 2008, he was a member of the Child Labor Commission. Then in 2013 he was the President of Social Olympics Bihar.
