He later resumed work after making a full recovery. The minister was taken to AIIMS around 11:30am on Tuesday morning, reported ANI, and admitted under the medicines department.

While announcing that the Union Minister of Education is Covid positive on April 21, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said: “This is to inform you all that I have tested Covid positive. I am taking medication and treatment as per the advice of my doctors. I request all those who have come in my contact recently to get themselves tested.”

The Education Minister was supposed to announce a decision on Class 12th board exams soon. On a plea heard by the Supreme Court on Monday, May 31, on cancellation of the upcoming 2021 Class 12 board exams, the Centre has requested two days’ time to take a final call on the board exams. The Supreme court adjourned the matter to June 3 after Attorney General appearing for the Centre informed the Supreme Court that the Government will take a decision on Class 12 board exams in two days. “Give us time till Thursday and Government will come with a final decision,” Attorney General said.

Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ had asked states to send their suggestions, adding that a decision on Class 12th board exams will be taken at the earliest.
