Eight dead, 30 civilians released in Afghanistan

Afghanistan: According to the information given by the Defense Ministry, in an incident that took place in Laghman province killing eight militants and setting free 30 civilians after Afghan forces attacked a Taliban detention centre.

“The security forces raided a detention centre of the insurgents in Dara-e-Sangar area of Alinegar district late on Monday and after killing eight rebels released 30 civilians who were held there,” it said, according to the media reports.

Arms and ammunition as well as four motorbikes of the insurgents were destroyed during the raid, the statement added.
