Election Boycott Slogans in Delhi University Lead to Police FIR

Delhi Police has registered two FIRs after election boycott slogans were found written on the walls at several places in Delhi University. Officials gave this information on Thursday. Bhagat Singh Chhatra Ekta Manch (BSCEM) has taken responsibility for the slogans like 'Ek Hi Raasta Naxalbari' written on the walls.

Delhi Police has registered two FIRs after election boycott slogans were found written on the walls at several places in Delhi University. Officials gave this information on Thursday. The self-proclaimed youth organization had posted pictures of the slogans on its Instagram page. Police said that during patrolling on Thursday morning, they saw slogans written in the area. Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Manoj Kumar Meena said, “In the case, two FIRs have been registered under the Defacement Act.

Mischievous elements wrote objectionable slogans on the Wall

Amidst the elections, some mischievous elements attacked DU; Objectionable slogans were written on the walls of Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC). The accused wrote about boycotting the elections by using spray paint. On the other hand, slogans in support of Maoism and Naxalites were also written on some walls.

On Thursday morning the students informed the university administration about this. Later DU informed the police about the matter. After investigation, a case was registered under the Public Property Protection Act at Maurice Nagar police station. Deputy Commissioner of Police Manoj Kumar Meena said that a case has been registered by Delhi Police on suo motu cognizance. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Efforts are being made to identify the accused from CCTV footage. Police are interrogating many students in the case. Slogans have been written in the name of an organization. Senior police officer said that on Thursday morning, objectionable slogans were written with red spray paint on the saffron wall of Shri Ram College of Commerce. The slogans were claimed to be written by BSCEM.
