New Delhi: Finally the long wait for India is over as Elon Musk, the manufacturer of trade luxury electric cars, has registered his company Tesla under the name of Tesla India Motors & Energy Private Limited in Bengaluru. The company office is located at the Richmond Circle Junction in front of the Bangalore Club.

“Tesla registered its Indian subsidiary with the Registrar of Companies (RoC) in Bengaluru on January 8, with Rs 15 lakh authorised capital and Rs 1 lakh paid-up capital. Tesla India Motors and Energy Ltd has been opened in the city centre, with Vibhav Taneja, Venkatrangam Sreeram and David Jon Feinstein as its directors,” state the leading electirc car maker company in its filing with the RoC.

According to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Tesla registered in Bengaluru on January 8 with a capital of 1.5 crore and its registration number is 142975. Its directors are Vaibhav Taneja, Venkatarangam Sriram and David John Feinstein. Taneja is Tesla’s Chief Accounting Officer (CFO), while Feinstein is its Global Senior Director, Trade Market Access at Tesla. Whereas, Sriram has been holding the post of director in Xenon Automotive India Ltd since April 2014 and Clearquote Technologies India Ltd since August 2020.

Welcoming the top notch technological car makers in India, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa tweeted on Tuesday, informing that Tesla is setting up its research and development (R&D) centre in Bengaluru to commence its India operations soon. As per reports, the state government had made a strong pitch to invite Tesla to the state.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that Karnataka will lead India’s journey towards green mobility with Tesla. He also said that electric vehicle making giant, Tesla would soon start its operations with a research and development unit in Bangalore, India. He also welcomed Elon Musk to India.

The high speculations around Tesla’s arrival in India was in full swing since last year. Tesla CEO Elon Musk had announced in a tweet last year in October that his company would enter the Indian market in 2021.

The company may launch the Model 3 in India and can began delivery at the end of the first quarter of the year.
