Excise policy case: AAP leader Sisodia to move SC after Delhi HC denies his bail

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has given a big blow to the jailed Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia in the Delhi Liquor Policy case. The Delhi High Court has rejected aap leader Manish Sisodia’s bail plea today i.e. on Tuesday. AAP will now approach the Supreme Court after Delhi High Court rejected the bail plea of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in East Delhi.

Manish Sisodia will go to the Supreme Court for bail. AAP leader Manish Sisodia, former deputy CM of the Arvind Kejriwal government, challenged the decision of the lower court in the High Court. The lower court had rejected Manish Sisodia’s bail plea. The Delhi High Court has refused to grant bail to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia in a case related to the Delhi Excise Policy, which is being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The High Court said that the allegations against Sisodia are very serious and the possibility of influencing the witnesses for granting bail cannot be ruled out. On this basis, the High Court rejected Sisodia’s bail plea. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had accused the police of manhandling Manish Sisodia before the hearing in the money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor scam.

The Aam Aadmi Party had also released an alleged video of a policeman manhandling Manish Sisodia at Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court. In response to these allegations, the Delhi Police had said that it was a ‘misinformation’ against them.

The Delhi Police said that it is against the law for an accused in judicial custody to give a statement to the media. In a statement issued by the police, it was said, ‘The response of the police released in the video was mandatory from the point of view of security.’
