Excise policy case: Delhi court extends Manish Sisodia’s judicial custody till May 23

New Delhi: Delhi former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has again received a blow from the Rouse Avenue Court in the Excise Policy case. His judicial custody has been extended for 14 days. Let us inform that Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court has extended Manish Sisodia's judicial custody till May 23. Along with this, the court has asked the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to give an e-copy of the charge sheet to Manish Sisodia.

Excise policy case: Delhi court extends Manish Sisodia’s judicial custody till May 23

New Delhi: Delhi former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has again received a blow from the Rouse Avenue Court in the Excise Policy case. His judicial custody has been extended for 14 days. Let us inform that Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has extended Manish Sisodia’s judicial custody till May 23.

Along with this, the court has asked the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to give an e-copy of the charge sheet to Manish Sisodia.Earlier, Manish Sisodia was produced in the Rouse Avenue Court after the ED’s judicial custody in the Excise Policy case was over. The ED is also probing the matter from the angle of money laundering. Manish Sisodia was first arrested by the CBI in the liquor scam and later the ED also arrested him.

He is lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail since 23 February.At the same time, on taking cognizance of the supplementary charge sheet filed against Manish Sisodia, the hearing has been postponed till May 10. Hearing will be held on May 10 to take cognizance of ED’s charge sheet in Rouse Avenue Court. This is the fourth supplementary charge sheet of the ED in the excise scam case.

While filing the supplementary charge sheet, the ED told the court that Manish Sisodia is accused number 29 in the excise scam case.The Enforcement Directorate had told that there are 2100 pages in the supplementary charge sheet against Manish Sisodia. The Rouse Avenue Court has asked the ED to file a soft copy of the charge sheet in the court by May 8. The ED also told the court that during the investigation, it has been found that Manish Sisodia, while being the Excise Minister, has so far detected proceeds of crime worth Rs 622 crore.
