Face masks penalty revoked in Delhi amid drop in Covid cases: DDMA

The meeting of the DDMA (Delhi Disaster Management Authority) reviewed the COVID situation in the national capital and also reviewed the resources given to hospitals to deal with the corona virus infection.

New Delhi: There are still many active patients infected with the corona epidemic in the country. Meanwhile, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has taken an important decision. Under this decision, those who do not wear masks in public places will no longer be fined. This decision is effective from 1 October.

It has been said by DDMA that now a fine of Rs 500 will not be charged from those who do not wear masks in public places. Apart from this, the appointment of health workers to be appointed on contractor for health services in Covid Hospital has also been stopped till the end of this year.

Let us tell you that in its last meeting held in April, DDMA had made it mandatory to wear masks in public places and had made a provision of fine of Rs 500 on those who violated it. At the same time, now the Delhi government will withdraw the order of taking challan for not wearing a mask in public places.

After the arrival of 1,968 new cases of corona virus in India in the last 24 hours, the total number of infected in the country has increased to 4,45,99,466. These are the lowest daily cases reported in the last 133 days. Earlier on May 23, 1,675 new cases were reported in 24 hours.
