‘Fake complaint’: Kerala police arrest army jawan, who claimed ‘PFI’ written on his back

New Delhi: On Tuesday, An Indian Army soldier in Kerala has arrested along with his friend for giving a false statement about six men attacking him and writing the letters "PFI" on his back on Sunday night, police said.

New Delhi: On Tuesday, An Indian Army soldier in Kerala has arrested along with his friend for giving a false statement about six men attacking him and writing the letters “PFI” on his back on Sunday night, police said. Soldier Shine Kumar claimed that he was attacked by a gang of six in the rubber forest next to his house. He said they tied her hands with tape and wrote “PFI” on her back in green pain.

Kadakkal town police in Kollam district had registered a case based on the complaint by army personnel and investigation was underway to ascertain the facts of the case. Explaining the matter, A police officer said that the complaint filed by the Army personnel was fake and police suspect that he had planned the act with the intention of gaining national attention. The army person is identified as Shine Kumar.

Additional Superintendent of Police in Kollam Rural R. Prathapan Nair said, “Police have arrested the accused solider and his friend. The complaint of the Army personnel is fake, and it appears that he had orchestrated this deceitful act with the intention of gaining national attention and securing a better job opportunity. Both individuals will be produced before the court today itself.”

In his complaint, the Army personnel, said he was attacked by a group of six men in a rubber forest next to his house in Kadakkal on Sunday night. They tied up his hands with tape, and wrote PFI on his back with green paint.

The officer said that the soldier’s friend claimed that Shine Kumar wanted to be famous and that is why the whole incident was carried out. The officer further said that the constable has also given several reasons for making such false statements and they are yet to be verified.

The police have also recovered the green paint, brush and tape used in the incident from the house of the soldier’s friend. Soldier’s friend told the media that he had made a whole plan to become famous. The friend claimed that the soldier wrote PFI on his lap and later beat him up.
