Mother Abandons 2-Month-Old Baby in Kerala. Vijayakumari, a local lottery seller, alerted the Kasaba police after hearing the baby’s cries. Subsequently, the infant was transferred to Malambuzha Ananda Bhavanam.

According to authorities, the couple had contemplated selling their newborn, a fact brought to light by their workplace staff who reported the matter to the Kasaba police.

Despite police intervention and counseling on the severe consequences of such actions, the couple assured authorities that they would care for the baby. However, the mother abandoned the infant on Sunday morning amidst a dispute. The father, upon returning from a search for his wife, discovered the baby in distress, being cared for by Vijayakumari. The incident was promptly reported to the Kasaba police.

The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) has initiated an inquiry into the whereabouts of the mother, seeking a detailed report on the situation.
