Farmers will receive payment within three days of selling pulses and oilseeds to the government

Lucknow: The government spokesperson in Lucknow has announced that all registered farmers selling their produce, including pulses and oilseeds, to government procurement centers at the minimum support price (MSP) will receive their payments within three days.

The government has made a strong appeal to farmers to complete online registration for selling their pulses and oilseeds at the MSP. This streamlined process ensures that farmers will receive their payments within three working days of the sale, as long as their bank accounts are linked to their Aadhar cards and they register with the mobile number linked to both their bank and Aadhar card.

The procurement of pulses and oilseeds from registered farmers began on October 25 and is scheduled to continue until January 2024.

Notably, the Bundelkhand region in Uttar Pradesh is the primary hub for the cultivation of oilseeds and pulses. However, the state’s production falls short of its consumption demand, prompting the government to take various measures to bolster production in this sector.
