Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh: In a shocking turn of events, a 25-year-old engineering student was allegedly shot dead by the father of his girlfriend in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The accused, identified as Rajesh Kumar Singh, a retired Border Security Force (BSF) personnel currently employed in a private security company, reportedly took this drastic step due to his opposition to the relationship.
The victim, identified as Vipul, a BTech student, was shot dead in a flat located in the Crossing Republic area around 3:30 am on Friday, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rural) Vivek Chandra Yadav. It is reported that Singh, the accused, confronted Vipul at the flat during the night, leading to a heated altercation.
Police officials revealed that Singh, motivated by his disapproval of Vipul’s relationship with his daughter, resorted to extreme measures, firing five shots at the victim. The tragic incident underscores the dire consequences of familial opposition to romantic relationships in certain societal contexts.
The body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem examination, and an investigation into the incident has been initiated by the authorities. The case highlights the urgent need for addressing underlying societal issues that contribute to such violent outcomes in relationships.
