FC Barcelona defender Gerard Pique announces retirement from Football

Gerard Pique: Spanish stock footballer Gerard Pique has announced his retirement from football. Gerrard, 35, also plays for the country's football club Barcelona. In his career, he has won three Champions League titles for Spain as well as being a member of the World Cup and Euro Cup winning teams.

New Delhi: FC Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has announced his retirement from football, putting an end to his illustrious career. Gerard, 35, gave this information by posting on Twitter. He tweeted, ‘Saturday’s match (against Almeria) will be my last match at Camp Nou.’ Gerard’s football career has been full of achievements. The Barcelona defender has been a member of three Champions League titles while playing for his club and the 2010 World Cup title win with Spain. Apart from this, he has also been a part of the Vitaja team of Euro 2012.

Gerard made his debut for Spain in 2009. Since his debut, he has appeared in more than 100 matches for his national team. Spain won the FIFA Football World Cup in South Africa in 2010. He played an important role in making the team the winner.

Gerard played for a long time for the Barcelona club of Spain. He has played more than 600 matches for Barcelona. Prior to Barcelona, ​​he was part of the pickup England club Manchester United from 2004 to 2008.

He has appeared in a total of 615 games for the 5-times European Champions, scoring 52 times and winning as many as 30 trophies.
