Lucknow: Amidst Covid taking its ugly shape the hand hygiene has become a crucial part in our daily lives. As we say ‘Prevention is better than cure’, which means we should take good care of ourselves, so that we can keep the virus at bay as much as possible. Whenever you move into your house always ensure you wash your hands properly for at least 20 secs, as experts adviced.
“No matter where we go now, ‘wash your hands’ , ‘sanitize your hands’ and ‘maintain social distance’ are the most common phrases we frequently tend to use . The recent spike in the covid-19 cases has brought our focus back to hand hygiene. This healthy habit despite being important never fails to remind us about the ongoing horror this highly infectious virus has created.
It is highly suggested to use traditional soap and water to clean hands but incase of travelling outside sanitizers can be used as an alternative.

Know when to wash hands
We touch innumerable surfaces every day and collect dirt and germs on our hands. Always remember to wash your hands thoroughly after using the restroom, before eating or touching your face with your hands, and before wearing your mask.
Expert tells how to keep your hands clean and healthy:
-Experts suggest not to use hot water, as it can dry out your skin. Instead, wash your hands with lukewarm water. Never miss out to clean between fingers, the back of your hands, wrists, and under the nails, which is likely to be a breeding ground for germs.
-Use a liquid hand wash and preferably one with the goodness of natural ingredients like tulsi, aloe vera, and lemon, as they have antimicrobial properties that help get rid of germs and keep skin nourished.
-Always rinse your hands thoroughly and make sure there is no trace of soap left, as this can lead to skin irritation.
-Dry your hands using a clean towel or fresh tissues to prevent exposing your clean hands to any kind of germs in used towels and tissues.
-It is best to carry a sanitizer for on-the-go hand hygiene, especially when you are out or traveling. Using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with natural ingredients like Coriander, ushira, nutgrass, neem, and spiked ginger lily can be helpful. These herbs are well known for their antimicrobial properties.
-Hand wipes can be a life saver as they can be carried along and are good to keep your hands clean and dirt free. Carry a pack of hand wipes while commuting, dining outside, and use it for cleaning the food remains from the corner of your nails, fingers, and hands. Look for one with the goodness of herbs like aloe vera, tulsi, and lemon. Tulsi is known to possess excellent antimicrobial and skin-detoxifying properties.
