Filmmaker Kundan Shah passes away

Mumbai: Filmmaker Kundan Shah passed away on Saturday in Mumbai at the age of 69. He has died of a heart attack.

According to reports, Shah breathed his last at his Mumbai residence on Saturday morning.

The veteran director made his directorial debut in 1983 with ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron’. He won a national award for the movie. Shah also directed films like ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa’ (1993), ‘Kya Kehna’ (2000) and ‘Dil Hai Tumhara’ (2002).

On the other hand, he made his mark on small, screen by directing hit shows like ‘Nukkad'(1986) and ‘Wagle Ki Duniya'(1988).

Many Bollywood celebrities including filmmaker Subhash Ghai, Karan Johar, Riteish Desmukh and Farhan Akhtar took to Twitter to mourn his death.

“Good bye Kundan Shah. We all @FTIIOfficial @Whistling_Woods shall remember u for your great films with us n in history Indian cinema,” Subhash Ghai wrote in a tweet.
