The duo of a politician and a bureaucrat were booked in Bihar for an alleged gangrape of an advocate.
Patna: Not to talk of politicians, bureaucrats are also not behind in rape. Such a case has been exposed in Bihar.
The duo of a politician and a bureaucrat were booked in Bihar for an alleged gangrape of an advocate, police said. Sajeev Hans, a senior IAS officer, is posted as principal secretary in the state energy department, and Gulab Yadav, a former legislator from Jhanjharpur in Madhubani district, is one of the guilty parties.
An FIR has been registered under different sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the duo after the order of the Danapur court to the Patna police to register a rape case against the accused.
The police didn’t lodge an FIR when the woman went to Rupaspur police station in 2021.
On Tuesday, an FIR was registered on the order of additional chief judicial magistrate (ACJM) Naveen Kumar Srivastava of Danapur civil court against the two culprits, the first of whom is a 1997-batch IAS officer and the other a former MLA with Rupaspur police station in Patna.
As per the Patna SSP Manavjit Singh Dhillon, “The victim lodged a complaint in Danapur court and alleged that Gulab Yadav and IAS Sanjeev Hans raped her, and she became pregnant and gave birth to a child because she didn’t go for abortion.” The court first said to probe into the matter and not file an FIR.
“After that, she approached the HC, and the court ordered the registration of an FIR,” he said.
