Varanasi: A first information report (FIR) has been registered against Abbas Ansari, the son of jailed mafia-don Mukhtar Ansari and also the Samajwadi Party and Suheldeo Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) candidate from Mau, for threatening officials from a public meeting in Uttar Pradesh’s Pahadpur on Thursday night.
Ansari said, “After formation of SP-led government, the officials will have to give an account of their works of the past regime before getting transferred.”

Mau police booked him in a case under section 171F (offence of undue influence or personation at an election) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC.
“Apart from lodging an FIR against Abbas with Kotwali police a report has also been sent to the returning officer of Mau Sadar assembly constituency for initiating appropriate action,” said Sushil Ghule, Mau superintendents of police.
The video clips of the speech of Abbas delivered at Pahadpur area went viral late on Thursday.
Abbas said, “Before leaving Lucknow for contesting Mau I had a detailed talk with Akhilesh Bhaiyya (SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav) when I said that don’t issue transfer list of officers for six months after the formation of the government. The officers will first give the account of their works before their transfer certificates will be signed.”
