New Delhi: One coach of Dehradun-Delhi Shatabdi Express was under flares when it was coming from Delhi on Saturday, however, no casualty was reported, according to police report.
The train’s bogie caught fire near Kasro railway station while moving towards popular hill station. Railway officials in New Delhi said the fire broke out in coach C5 of the train due to a short circuit.
As per Uttarakhand police chief Ashok Kumar, no one was killed or injured in the incident adding that all passengers were evacuated from the affected coach, which was separated from the train after incident, DGP Kumar said.
“Guard has informed that all passengers are safe and the fire brigade was informed. A total of 35 passengers in the coach were shifted and adjusted in other coaches. The train has departed for the destination,” the Railway officials said.
Giving update on the incident, Uttarakhand DGP Kumar said the train has reached Dehradun safely.
