In the early hours of Thursday, a passenger train in Uttar Pradesh’s Etawah district experienced a fire in one of its coaches, following an earlier blaze in an express train that resulted in injuries to eight individuals.
Etawah Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjai Kumar reported that some individuals affected by the fire were transported to a hospital, while additional details are awaited. The incident occurred at approximately 2:40 am when the Delhi-Saharasa Vaishali Express was passing through an area under the jurisdiction of the Friends Colony police station.
Upon receiving the report, fire engines were swiftly dispatched to the scene, successfully extinguishing the fire in the train’s S-6 coach, according to the police.
The preceding day, at around 5:30 pm, a fire had erupted in the New Delhi-Darbhanga Special Express train, causing damage to three coaches and resulting in injuries to eight passengers, as confirmed by officials.
The investigations into the causes of both incidents are still ongoing, as stated by the police.
