The revered Amarnath Cave has unveiled the first glimpse of Baba Barfani, the sacred Shivalinga, ahead of the upcoming Amarnath Yatra 2024. The image of the towering 8-foot Shivalinga has emerged from the depths of the holy cave, igniting fervent anticipation among devotees of Sanatan Dharma.

Yatra Scheduled to Commence on June 29 Amidst Snowy Terrain

As preparations for the annual Amarnath Yatra intensify, devotees eagerly anticipate embarking on the spiritual journey starting from June 29. Spanning over 52 days, the yatra will culminate on August 19, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan. Despite the formidable challenge posed by 5 to 7 feet of snow en route to the cave, devotees remain undeterred in their quest for spiritual enlightenment.

Registration Opens for Devotees

Registration for the revered pilgrimage commenced on April 15, welcoming Indian citizens aged 13 to 70 to embark on the sacred journey to seek blessings from Baba Barfani. The mandatory medical certificate acquisition process is underway to ensure the well-being of pilgrims throughout the yatra. Interested devotees can register for the pilgrimage through the official website https://jksasb.nic.in.

Traditional Nunwan-Pahalgam and Baltal Routes Await Devotees

The Amarnath Yatra unfolds through two distinct routes – the traditional 48-km Nunwan-Pahalgam route and the shorter 14-km Baltal route. Organized in collaboration with the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, the yatra offers devotees the opportunity to immerse themselves in the divine presence of Lord Shiva, as per ancient mythology.

Legend of Amarnath Cave Enthralls Devotees Year After Year

Steeped in mythological significance, the holy Amarnath Cave is believed to be the site where Lord Shiva divulged the secrets of life and eternity to Goddess Parvati. Revered as one of the 51 Shaktipeeths, the cave witnesses the miraculous formation of the Shivlinga from water droplets, drawing devotees from far and wide to embark on the arduous yet spiritually enriching pilgrimage.
