Five Effective Home Remedies To Relieve Sinus Pain

Sinus pain can be really troublesome, those who have experienced it, know it. Sinus is of two types – acute or chronic. While chronic sinusitis needs antibiotics, acute sinusitis can be treated at home as well.

Sinus infection is caused due to dust allergy, chemicals or irritants. It happens when your nasal passage becomes inflamed and infected. Some common symptoms include headache, facial tenderness, pain in the sinus, ears, teeth, fever, facing swelling, sore throat, nasal stuffiness and cough. The condition can only be diagnosed through physical examination. So, if you are facing any of the above symptoms, you must visit your doctor.

But before you go to your doctor, here are five easy home remedies to try.

1.Drink lots of water: Keeping yourself hydrated prevents you from dehydration. One must consume more and more liquids to get relief from sinus pain. The fluids help by thinning the mucus and thus bringing relief to nasal passage.

2.Take Steam: Steam helps by cleaning a blocked nasal passage. If you do not have a steamer, boil some water, take a towel and add some mint in the water for better relief. Taking steam from mint water will provide you relief from pain and irritation caused by sinus.

3.Have soup: A hot cup of soup can help ease congestion. You can choose any soup that you like, as per your taste. The steam from the soup and healthy ingredients in it can help in clearing your sinuses.

4.Flush your nasal passage: The process is also called nasal irrigation. In this process, you have to flush out nasal solution through your nasal passage. It helps by flushing away the bacteria and viruses. The process also helps in providing relief from congestion.

5 Apple cider vinegar :Apple cider vinegar has many health benefits and getting rid of sinus pain is one of them. Have some apple cider vinegar with warm water or tea to get relief from sinus pain.
