Forbes released list of India’s 100 richest, Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani retain top spot

Forbes top 100 Richest Indians: Forbes has released the list of India's 100 richest, in which Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani retain the top position. According to the list, the combined wealth of India's 100 richest people has increased by $25 billion to $800 billion.

New Delhi: Forbes 2022 list of India’s 100 richest people has been released. According to the list, the combined wealth of India’s 100 richest people has increased by $25 billion to $800 billion. Despite a slight decline in the stock market as compared to a year ago, an increase in the amount has been recorded. The biggest fall was due to the weakness of the rupee, which declined by 10 per cent in the same period. Gautam Adani remains at number one in the list. After whom there is Mukesh Ambani, who is second in the list.

According to Forbes, due to the increase in profit in the companies of infrastructure tycoon Gautam Adani, he remains in the first place. Who has changed the top order for the first time since 2008.

According to Forbes data, the total wealth of the top 10 richest people is $385 billion.

India’s richest man has a net worth of $150 billion, while the richest woman has a net worth of $16.4 billion. There are nine women in the list. The cut-off to be included in the list is $1.9 billion.

Gautam Adani
The total assets of the Chairman of Adani Group are Rs 1,211,460.11 crore. He tripled his wealth in 2021 and became India’s richest person for the first time in 2022.

Mukesh Ambani
The chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries Ltd’s O2C, telecom and new energy group has a net worth of Rs 710,723.26 crore. For the first time after 2013, his rank dropped to number 2.

Radhakishan Damani
Radhakishan Damani owns the DMart chain of supermarkets and his net worth is 222,908.66 crores. Damani entered retailing with one store in 2002 and now has 271 Dmart stores in India.

Cyrus Poonawala
Cyrus Poonawala, chairman of the Serum Institute of India, the world’s largest vaccine manufacturing company, has total assets of Rs 173,642.62 crore. SII has made several partnerships to make vaccines for Covid-19. Poonawala’s property also includes stud farms.

Shiv Nadar
Chairman Emeritus of HCL Technologies has total assets of Rs 172,834.97 crore. Another one of the pioneers of the Indian IT sector who donated $662 million to education-related causes this year saw the biggest drop in the total value but retained its position in the top 10.

Savitri Jindal
The chairperson emeritus of OP Jindal Group is the only woman billionaire and an active politician in Forbes top 10 list. His total assets are Rs 132,452.97 crore.

Dilip Shanghvi
Dilip Shanghvi is the founder of Sun Pharmaceuticals and his net worth is Rs 125,184.21 crore.

Hinduja Brothers
The Hinduja group was started by Parmanand Deepchand Hinduja in 1914. Today, the four siblings, Srichand, Gopichand, Prakash and Ashok, control the multinational conglomerate and have a net worth of Rs 122,761.29 crore.

Kumar Mangalam Birla
Aditya Birla Group, chairman of the textile-to-cement conglomerate, has total assets of Rs 121,146.01 crore.

Bajaj Family
The family has a network of 40 companies under the Bajaj Group. The 96 year old family led business was started by Jamnalal Bajaj in 1926 in Mumbai. With total assets of ₹117,915.45 crore, the family flagship company Bajaj Auto is ranked as the world’s fourth largest two-wheeler and three-wheeler manufacturer.

According to Forbes, there are nine new faces this year, including three from IPOs-

Falguni Nayar, a former banker who became India’s richest self-made woman after her beauty and fashion retailer Nykaa was listed at number 44; ethnic wear maker Ravi Modi at 50th position; and shoemaker Rafiq Malik, who Metro Brands listed at number 89 last December.
