Foreign Minister will leave for Tanzania today, will attend the 10th Joint Commission meeting

According to a release issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, Jaishankar will first visit Zanzibar from July 5 to 6. In Zanzibar, Jaishankar will visit a water supply project funded by the Government of India.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will be on a four-day official visit to Tanzania on Wednesday. Foreign Minister’s visit to Tanzania is going to be very important. During his visit, the External Affairs Minister will hold high-level talks with his Tanzanian counterpart. Will also co-chair the 10th Joint Commission meeting. Will meet the top leadership of the country including many cabinet rank ministers here.

According to a release issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, Jaishankar will first visit Zanzibar from July 5 to 6. In Zanzibar, Jaishankar will visit a water supply project funded by the Government of India. He will also attend a reception onboard Indian Naval Ship Trishul which is visiting Tanzania. After this, the Foreign Minister will be in Dar-e-Salaam city of Tanzania from 7 to 8 July.

Will also meet the Parliamentary Friendship Group of India

EAM Jaishankar will meet members of India’s Parliamentary Friendship Group and inaugurate the India-Tanzania Business Meeting during the visit. Will also address the Indian diaspora here and inaugurate the statue of Swami Vivekananda in Dar-e-Salaam. India and Tanzania have traditionally enjoyed close and friendly relations, the release said. External Affairs Minister’s visit to Tanzania will further strengthen the bilateral relations between our two countries. The two countries also witnessed the second edition of the Joint Defense Cooperation Committee (JDCC) meeting between India and Tanzania, which was held earlier this year in Arusha on June 28 and 29.

To strengthen education ties between the two countries, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) will open its first overseas campus in Zanzibar, Tanzania in October 2023.
