Pakistan: Former Pakistan Army Chief and President Pervez Musharraf died on Sunday in a hospital in Dubai after a prolonged illness. This news has come to the fore by quoting Pakistani media.

Pakistan: Former Pakistan Army Chief and President Pervez Musharraf died on Sunday in a hospital in Dubai after a prolonged illness. This news has come to the fore by quoting Pakistani media. Musharraf had been ill for a long time.He breathed his last at the age of 79.

Media reports quoted Musharraf’s family members as saying that he died today due to amyloidosis. He was admitted to the hospital for a few weeks. Pervez Musharraf was the 10th president of the South Asian nation after a successful military coup in 1999.

He served as the 10th CJCSC from 1998 to 2001 and as the 7th Top General from 1998 to 2007. The former president’s family moved from New Delhi to Karachi in 1947. He joined the Pakistan Army in 1964 and was a graduate of the Army Staff and Command College, Quetta.

On June 10, His family had issued a statement on Twitter and had said that the former army chief is at a stage where, “recovery is not possible and organs are malfunctioning”. “He is not on the ventilator. Has been hospitalized for the last 3 weeks due to a complication of his ailment (Amyloidosis). Going through a difficult stage where recovery is not possible and organs are malfunctioning. Pray for ease in his daily living,” the family said.
