Former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat’s health deteriorates while sitting on protest against lathi-charge on youth

Dehradun: Congress protested against the lathi charge on the youth during the protest in Dehradun. Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat’s health deteriorated in this protest. Dehradun police lathi-charged Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) candidates who were protesting against alleged malpractices in the state’s recruitment exam near Ghantaghar Chowk in the city.

The Congress also protested regarding this matter and during this the health of the former CM deteriorated. A huge crowd of candidates gathered at Gandhi Park on Thursday to protest against alleged unfair practices in several recruitment examinations. Later, as the students started moving towards Ghantaghar Chowk, the local administration deployed police force to handle the crowd. In no time, the police started lathicharge, after which there was fierce stone pelting between the two.

Regarding this demonstration of the students, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami appealed to the students and asked them to maintain peace. CM Dhami had said that our government is fully alert to protect the interests of the youth of the state. We have neither suppressed nor hidden any recruitment scam. CM Dhami said that our government has already decided to bring a strict law to prevent cheating in recruitment examinations.

We are working on the most stringent anti-copy in the country. Our government is constantly taking decisions in the interest of the youth. CM said that I assure all of you that all future recruitments will be done in a fair manner.

On the other hand, in Uttarakhand, in order to stop the youth’s protest, the Dehradun district administration has imposed prohibitory orders on Friday by imposing section 144 within a radius of 300 meters around the parade ground. Section 144 has been implemented in view of the ongoing demonstrations by unemployed youth against the alleged scam in the recruitment examinations.
