New Delhi: Four Congress MPs will not take part further in the Lok Sabha proceedings for the entire Monsoon session due to their fierce protests with placards inside the house. They were protesting over the constant price increases on necessary items. Speaker Om Birla had urged them to keep the placards outside the house if they wanted to protest.
The suspended Congress MPs are Manickam Tagore, Jothimani, Ramya Haridas, and TN Prathapan.
On Monday, the sixth day of the ongoing Monsoon session, Om Prakash Birla finally warned the parliamentarians about their ferocious demonstration inside the house.
The speaker said, “If you want to show placards, do it outside the house.” “I am ready for discussions, but don’t think my kind-heartedness is a weakness,” the Speaker said. Later, he adjourned the proceedings till tomorrow.
When the session took place again after 3 pm—it was adjourned 20 minutes into Zero Hour earlier—the opposition MPs once again returned inside the House with the placards.
