Four killed, over dozen injured in UP’s Barabanki after truck hits bus

Barabanki: In Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki, a truck collided with a double-decker bus carrying migrant workers, resulting in four fatalities and more than a dozen injuries.

The accident took place early on Saturday morning in Barabanki, near Mahungupur.

The double-decker bus was carrying migrant labourers from Nepal to Goa when one of its tyres got punctured.

The bus driver decided to park the vehicle on the side of the road and was replacing a tyre. While tyre replacement work was in progress, a speeding truck struck the bus from behind, which proved fatal. Most of the passengers were inside the bus at the time of the accident.

The body of the deceased was sent to a hospital for autopsy, while the injured were admitted to a hospital for treatment.

Further investigation is being conducted to determine what caused the mishap.
