Ian Gelder passes away: British actor Ian Gelder, popular for playing Kevan Lannister in ‘Game of Thrones’, has passed away. He was ill for a long time. It is being told that he was suffering from cancer and he died due to complications of bile duct cancer. At the age of 74, Ian has said goodbye to the world.
Gelder’s partner Ben Daniels confirmed his death in an Instagram post on Tuesday. “It is with great sadness and a heavy heart broken into a million pieces that I leave this post to announce the passing of my beloved husband and life partner, Ian Gelder,” Daniels wrote.
The actor’s partner wrote, ‘Ian was diagnosed with bile duct cancer in December and passed away yesterday at 13.07. I had stopped all work to take care of him but none of us had any idea that it would happen so soon. He was my strength and we have been companions for more than 30 years. If we weren’t together we would talk to each other every day. He was the kindest, most generous, enthusiastic and loving person.
Referring to the picture posted, she further said, ‘This picture was taken at Christmas time when I brought him out of the hospital and even though he has gone through the worst three weeks, you can still do this . See her happiness and love shining through. Rest my dear Chiani.
Condolences pour in
Tributes started pouring in from fellow artists and industry colleagues and condolences were expressed. Many shared memories of Gelder. Matt Lanter offered prayers for Daniels, while Richard E. Grant called Gelder’s departure a loss.
