Shri Satya Ganpati Temple located in JP Nagar has decorated its premises for Ganesh Chaturthi with the help of notes and coins of Rs 500, 200,100, 50, 20 and 10. This temple is known for its unique decorations and arrangements during the Ganesh Puja celebrations every year.

Bengaluru: Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated across the country from September 19. The idols of Lord Ganesha are being decorated in a wonderful way in almost every temple of the country. The enthusiasm for Ganesh Utsav is being seen from Mumbai, Delhi to Bengaluru. In this series, a temple in Karnataka’s Bengaluru has been decorated with currency notes and coins worth ₹ 2 crore.

Shri Satya Ganpati Temple located in JP Nagar has decorated its premises for Ganesh Chaturthi with the help of notes and coins of Rs 500, 200,100, 50, 20 and 10. This temple is known for its unique decorations and arrangements during the Ganesh Puja celebrations every year.

Talking to the media, the temple trustee said, ‘For the last 11 years we have always been doing Alankar in different ways. This time all the trustees of the temple thought of doing something different with the help of coins and notes. The temple is decorated with currency notes worth ₹ 2.18 crore and coins worth ₹ 70 lakh. The decoration has been done using coins and currency notes ranging from Rs 10 to Rs 500.

The detailed decoration, done by a dedicated team of 150 persons over the course of a month, has been equipped with state-of-the-art security measures and CCTV surveillance to ensure its safety, trustee added.

In the past few years, temple authorities have also used flowers, corn kernels and raw bananas to decorate the premises. Ganesh Chaturthi is starting from 19th September i.e. tomorrow and it will end after 11 days on Anant Chaturdashi.

It is believed that the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi was started in Maharashtra in the 12th century by the Maratha king Shivaji Maharaj to promote Hindu culture and unite his people. Initially this happy festival was celebrated only in Maharashtra but now it is being celebrated all over the country and the world.
