Volker Wiesing is in India to participate in the G20 summit. He participated in the G20 Digital Ministers meeting in Bengaluru on 19 August. Meanwhile, the German Embassy wrote on Twitter that the G20 Digital Ministers’ meeting is about to begin in Bengaluru. Minister Wissing and host Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had an insightful discussion on deepening Indo-German cooperation in IT and AI in particular through our digital dialogue.
Significantly, the UPI payment system has become very popular in India and its trend is increasing rapidly. So far France, UAE and Singapore have partnered with India on UPI and payment solutions. PM Modi, who went on a tour of France in the past, had announced that India and France have agreed to use the UPI payment system.
