A scheme to give Rs 1,500 monthly to women has been announced in the budget. This allowance will be available to women between 21 and 60 years of age.
Scheme for girls too: Ajit Pawar, who is also holding the charge of Finance Ministry, said in his budget speech in the Assembly that ‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana’ will be implemented from the month of July. It is being implemented four months before the assembly elections to be held in the state in October. He said that the annual budgetary allocation for this scheme will be Rs 46,000 crore. Ajit Pawar also said that the electricity bill dues of 44 lakh farmers in the state will be waived off.
