Srinagar: National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah launched a scathing attack on the BJP government in response to The Resistance Front’s new threat to the Kashmiri Pandit community in the Valley.
Farooq Abdullah pointed the finger at the government for making Kashmiri Pandits “scapegoats” by making a false claim about the restoration of peace in Jammu and Kashmir, which is headed for its maiden elections after the abrogation of Article 370. The government’s false claim of normalcy is hollow.
Abdullah, who has been vocal in his condemnation of the BJP regime’s attacks on civilians over the past year, urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene and take concrete steps to eliminate the threat to Kashmiri Pandits.
He further added, “PM Modi must call an all-party meeting on this issue.”Don’t make Kashmiri Pandits sacrificial lambs if you can’t provide security for them. “Kashmiri Pandit employees shouldn’t be forced to return and resume duties in the Valley.”
The former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister said he must raise his voice during zero hour in Parliament; he also urged the Kashmiri Muslims to “raise their voice” for Kashmiri Pandit employees who are facing threats in the valley.
In recent years, militant groups have escalated their activities against Kashmiri Pandits. Of late, the TRF has issued a list of Kashmiri Pandit employees who have been working under the prime minister’s rehabilitation package (PMRP).
The BJP has demanded an investigation into the list’s leakage and has asked the administration to provide full safety and security to Kashmiri Pandit employees.
Several Kashmiri Pandits in the valley have been facing death threats from militant groups, so they have appealed to the government for their evacuation of the valley.
