GTA 6’s official trailer has been unveiled ahead of schedule, initially slated for release on December 5 at 9 am ET (7:30 pm IST). However, due to a leak, the trailer was launched 15 hours earlier, stirring excitement among fans after a decade since Grand Theft Auto 5’s debut in September 2013. Rockstar Games, the developer, swiftly responded to the leak by uploading the official trailer on YouTube, amassing over 29 million views within four hours of release.
The leaked trailer, shared on a now-suspended account on X, prompted Rockstar Games to address the situation on the platform, urging viewers to watch the official trailer on YouTube. The trailer showcases GTA 6’s setting in Vice City, a fictionalized version of Miami, introducing the female protagonist Lucia in a series of adventurous scenarios. Classic GTA elements such as fast cars, guns, and wealth are highlighted.

Rockstar Games confirmed in a press release that GTA 6 is scheduled for a 2025 release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. The exact launch date is expected to be revealed closer to the release. The press release also notes that Grand Theft Auto 5 has sold over 190 million units to date.
