Gujarat assembly elections 2022: BJP announces 1st list of candidates, CM Bhupendra Patel to contest from Ghatlodiya

Gujarat: BJP has released its first list of candidates for the Gujarat Assembly elections. BJP has made it clear that CM Bhupendra Patel will contest from Ghatlodiya seat. Also, BJP has given ticket to Ravindra Jadeja's wife Rivaba from Jam Nagar North.The list was finalized in the Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting held in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Gujarat: On Thursday, BJP has released its first list of candidates for the Gujarat Assembly elections. BJP has made it clear that CM Bhupendra Patel will contest from Ghatlodiya seat. Also, BJP has given ticket to Ravindra Jadeja’s wife Rivaba from Jam Nagar North.The list was finalized in the Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting held in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The names of the candidates were discussed in all the 182 seats of Gujarat in the meeting. Now it has also been formally announced. CM Bhupendra Patel can contest from Ghatlodiya, while leaving Congress and joining BJP while Hardik Patel is likely to get party ticket from Biramgam and Alpesh Thakor from Radhanpur. Cricketer Ravindra Jadeja’s wife Rivaba Jadeja’s name is also included in the list of possible candidates.

Gujarat Home minister Harsh Sanghavi will fight the polls from Majura constituency. BJP announced the names of 84 candidates for the first phase. After which now the candidates for the second phase are being declared.

The first round of voting will be held on December 1 and the second phase of voting will be held on December 5. After this, the result of the election will come on 8 December. The election results of Himachal Pradesh are also to be announced on the same day. With the announcement of elections, the notification has come into force in Gujarat. Candidates can file nominations till November 14 and the last date for withdrawal of nominations is November 17.
