Apart from NDRF, SDRF, Fire Brigade, teams of Indian Army, Coast Guard, Garud commandos were also involved in the rescue operation. Earlier, on Monday evening, PM Modi chaired a high-level meeting at the Raj Bhavan in the capital Gandhinagar.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Bhai Patel, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi, Gujarat Chief Secretary and DGP, including top officials of the Home Department and Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority attended the meeting.
Statewide mourning on November 2

An FIR has been registered against the company under serious criminal sections of the IPC. Gujarat ATS and Morbi police had detained 9 employees of Oreva on Monday morning. These include 2 managers, 2 repair contractors father and son, 3 security guards and 2 ticket clerks. Four of these personnel were arrested in the evening. It is alleged that the operator company had opened the bridge even before getting the NOC.
