Gujarat: Car collided with a truck in Surendranagar, killed four members of a family on the spot

In yet another tragic incident, a car and truck collided in Surendranagar district of the state on Tuesday. Four members of the same family died tragically in this accident. The deceased have been identified as Dhirubhai Khant (55), Vasantbhai Khant (25), Kalidas Khant (40) and Ajay (16).

Ahmedabad: In yet another tragic incident, a car and truck collided in Surendranagar district of the state on Tuesday. Four members of the same family died tragically in this accident. The local people and the police had to struggle a lot to get the bodies out. He had to cut the doors of the car with the help of tools. The bodies have been sent to the government hospital for postmortem.

“Early in the morning, an Eeco car collided with a truck, killing four members of a family on the spot,” said an official from Sayla police station. All the deceased were residents of Volvo village in Modasa taluka of Sabarkantha district. They were on their way to Rajkot when the accident happened near Aya village in Surendranagar district.

The police officer said that those killed in the accident have been identified as Dhirubhai Khant (55), Vasantbhai Khant (25), Kalidas Khant (40) and Ajay (16). An eyewitness told the police that the accident might have happened due to fog and poor visibility, but it was not clear whether the truck was parked or it applied brakes suddenly. The Eeco car driver could not control his vehicle and rammed into the truck.

Earlier same accident happened near Anand city on Monday
Earlier on Monday, a mini van collided with a truck parked on the highway on the Vadodara-Ahmedabad Expressway near Anand city of the state, killing three people.

According to an official of Khambholaj police station, the accident took place at around 12.30 am when the occupants of the van were returning to their home in Dakor town after dropping the vehicle owner at Vadodara. According to the officer, the truck was standing without any brake light or indicator light. The mini van hit it from behind, following which one person died on the spot. The other two were taken to the government hospital in Anand where doctors declared them brought dead.
