New Delhi: Ahead of the Gujarat Assembly elections to be held this year, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released its first list of candidates for ten assembly constituencies across the state. Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Gopal Italia, president of the AAP unit in Gujarat, along with Isudan Gadhvi, the party’s national joint secretary, announced the names of ten candidates who would be contesting from the mentioned assembly seats.
According to the list released by AAP, Bhema Bhai Choudhary from Deodar assembly, Jagmal Wala from Somnath, Arjun Rathwa from Chhota Udaipur, Sagar Rabari from Becharaji, Vashram Sagathia from Rajkot Rural, Ram Dhaduk from Kamrej, Shivlal Barsia. From Rajkot South, Sudhir Vaghani has been fielded from Gariadhar, Rajendra Solanki from Bardoli, Omprakash Tiwari from Naroda.
Earlier the elections, the AAP party is making many big promises to the people of the state. AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal promised a monthly unemployment allowance of Rs 3,000 and a job to every youth in the state if his party comes to power in the upcoming assembly elections in Gujarat. Before promising the job, Kejriwal had assured free electricity up to 300 units per month if voted to power in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled state. Responding to the BJP’s criticism of distributing Rewari or free gifts to get votes, the Delhi Chief Minister said the ruling party distributes Rewari to contractors, their friends and ministers, but they want to distribute them among the people of the country. Kejriwal said, this is public money, whatever you get free should be for citizens and not for contractors or ministers.
Kejriwal said that till we do not give jobs to every unemployed youth, they will get unemployment allowance of Rs 3,000 per month. As part of his party’s pre-poll guarantee, Kejriwal promised to create 10 lakh government jobs. The AAP leader also promised to enact a law to stop the leak of question papers of government recruitment examinations and punish the guilty.
Addressing a public meeting in Veraval town of Gir Somnath district of Saurashtra region, Kejriwal said if AAP comes to power in Gujarat, his party will ensure that every unemployed youth gets a job in the next five years. During this, Kejriwal also targeted the opponents. He had said that people abuse me that I am distributing free Revdi, while these people distribute all their Revdi to their friends or take them to Swiss bank. Now Bundelkhand Express started recently but it got spoiled. It means that free ki rewari was distributed in that too? Now only the public’s free rewari will run and no one else’s.
Let us tell you that there are a total of 182 assembly seats in Gujarat, in the year 2017, the government was formed for the sixth time by winning 99 seats here. Congress had won only 77 seats and others had only 7 seats in their account. This time BJP, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party are also in the fray. In such a situation, this election seems to be interesting.
