Gujarat elections: PM Modi to address rallies from November 20-22 in Gujarat’s Saurashtra region

New Delhi: Ahead of the Gujarat polls, PM Modi will hold seven rallies in Gujarat's Saurashtra from 20 to 22 November. Lakhs of people are expected to gather in these rallies.

New Delhi: Ahead of the Gujarat polls, PM Modi will hold seven rallies in Gujarat’s Saurashtra from 20 to 22 November. More than 1.5 lakh people will participate in these rallies, the source said.

As per the report, The series of rallies of PM Modi will start from Saurashtra on 20 November. Modi will hold three rallies here. After this, on November 21, two rallies will be held in South Gujarat and one in Saurashtra. Modi has two rallies to be held in Saurashtra on November 22.

Out Of the total 182 assembly seats in Gujarat, Saurashtra has 48 seats. In this part, elections are to be held in the first phase i.e. on December 1.

In the assembly elections held in the year 2017, the Congress had captured 28 seats here. The Congress had got tremendous advantage of the Patidar movement then. On the other hand, the BJP had to bear the loss here. In 2012, the BJP won 30 seats here, while in 2017 it got only 19 seats.

The Congress is seeking to oust the BJP from power in the state which has been in power for over 25 years.

The BJP has won Gujarat assembly polls in the state for six consecutive times since 1995 and is pulling out all the stops to keep its winning streak uninterrupted in the traditionally bipolar poll involving the Congress, which has spiced up this time by the entry of the Aam Aadmi Party.

Assembly elections are to be held in Gujarat in two phases. For the first phase, votes will be cast on December 1, while for the second phase, on December 5. The counting of votes will take place on December 8. The results of the Himachal Pradesh assembly elections will also come on the same day.
