New Delhi: Gujarat has again got a big project after huge investment from Vedanta-Foxconn Group. Tata and Airbus have announced to invest Rs 22,000 crore in Prime Minister Modi’s home state. The total cost of this project will be Rs 21,935 crore. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate this plant in Vadodara on Sunday. Elections are going to be held soon in Gujarat. The government is also promising thousands of jobs for this project. In September this year, the Gujarat government signed an agreement with Vedanta-Foxconn Group for a project worth Rs 1 lakh 54 thousand crore.

Vedanta Limited and Foxconn of Taiwan will jointly manufacture the semiconductor in Gujarat. Its plant will be set up near Ahmedabad. An agreement has also been made regarding the electricity of the government. Gujarat government will provide electricity along with other facilities for this project. It has been claimed that this will provide employment to 1 lakh people.

Tata-Airbus is helping to reduce the dependence of the military’s equipment and technology from other countries. This is also giving impetus to the Prime Minister’s ambitious campaign ‘Make in India’. Last month, the central government had announced the purchase of 56 transport aircraft from Airbus. As per the contract, 16 aircraft will be delivered soon and the rest will be manufactured in India.

According to an official statement, between September 2023 and August 2025, 16 aircraft will be handed over in ready condition. At the same time, the first aircraft made in Gujarat will be available by September 2026. The latest C 295 aircraft will replace the Avro aircraft which are very old.

Short take-off/land from semi-prepared surfaces is another of its features. The aircraft will strengthen the logistic capabilities of the IAF,” the statement said.
