Gujarat: Panchayat Junior clerk exam deferred as paper leaked; Over 15 detained

Panchayat Junior Clerk Recruitment Exam in Gujarat will be conducted again soon. In a statement issued by the Gujarat Chief Minister's Office (CMO), it has been said to provide free travel service facility to the candidates on the re-exam date.

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat government has detained a suspect in connection with the paper leak of the Junior Clerk recruitment exam. More than 9.5 lakh candidates had applied for the recruitment of 1181 posts of Junior Clerk. The exam was scheduled to start today, January 29, 2023, at 11 am but a few hours before the commencement of the exam the exam was canceled due to paper leak. Now the candidates are waiting for the new date of the exam.

The Board expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the candidates and informed them not to visit the examination centres. It states, “The examination will be conducted afresh as soon as possible, for which the board will issue a fresh advertisement.” Candidates are advised to keep an eye on the official website for new exam dates and important updates.

The board said in a statement that on the basis of a tip-off, the police detained a suspect and recovered a copy of the examination paper on Sunday morning. After this, Gujarat ATS has arrested more than 15 people in the paper leak case. Of these, 5 people are from Gujarat while more than 10 are from outside Gujarat. The Gujarat Panchayat Services Selection Board has decided to “postpone” the examination in the larger interest of the candidates.

Panchayat Junior Clerk Recruitment Exam will be conducted again soon in Gujarat. In a statement issued by the Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), it has been said to provide free travel service facility to the candidates on the re-exam date. Over 9.50 lakh candidates registered for the exam, free return journey in GSRTC buses announced for the candidates.

Explain that the board said, “The Junior Clerk (Administrative / Accounts) examination was to be conducted on January 29 between 11 am and 12 noon in various districts.” The police is probing the entire matter. The Junior Clerk recruitment examination by the Board (GPSSB) was to be held today at 2,995 centers across the state.
