Guwahati: In a tragic incident, A massive fire broke out at a slum colony in Assam’s Guwahati on Friday night. According to local authorities, a number of houses and properties worth several lakh of rupees were gutted in the incident which took place in the Fatasil Ambari region. The fire brigade personnel have brought the situation under control after a lot of effort.
According to the local police, there was no report of any casualty in the fire incident. At present, nothing has been known about the cause of the fire. The furnishings of the houses located in the slum have been completely burnt. People have suffered huge losses due to the fire and the cold has added to their difficulties. The damage caused by the fire is being assessed.
Let us tell you that recently, five people including two children were killed while 12 others were seriously burnt in a fire in a brick kiln in Cachar district of Assam. While giving information about the matter, the police had said that the cause of the fire could not be ascertained and the investigation is on. After the fire broke out, the owner of the kiln and the people working there had fled.
