Hardik Pandya is leading the national team for the first time. Under his leadership, the Gujarat Titans lifted the 2022 IPL trophy. Since then, he has been getting a shower of praise from former greats and experts for handling the team so admirably in every situation.

Budding young cricketers have been included in the team to perform in different conditions and pitches. Rahul Tripathi, knocking on the door of the national team, earned his maiden call. His performance for his franchise, Sunrisers Hyderabad, in IPL 2022 was exceptional.

Two emerging sensational speedsters, Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh, warmed up the bench in the recently concluded series against the Proteas. They have also landed in Ireland with the rest of the players. It may be possible for them to represent the national team in the coming two matches against the hosts, Ireland. Sanju Samson has got a berth in the national squad as well.

Dinesh Karthik, the wicketkeeper batsman, has a golden opportunity to once again prove his worth and to cement his place in the upcoming T20 World Cup to be held in Australia this year. The veteran hasn’t lost the fire in his belly despite his age. He played a crucial role in squaring off the series against South Africa.

All the youngsters in the team have to show courage and perform up to the mark to be considered for the next big step. The pitch in Ireland will certainly suit the fast bowlers. So, Indian batters have to be careful in handling seam bowling.

The hosts have the home advantage and are ready to give a chance to some upcoming players. Andrew Balbirnie’s Ireland has called up right-handed batter Stephen Doheny and fast bowler Conor Olphert for the forthcoming encounters against India.

In the shortest format of the game, Ireland has not yet been able to trounce India. In the 2018 series, India overpowered the hosts 2-0 in a T20 series at the same venue.
