Haryana on high alert amid VHP’s call for yatra; Schools, colleges and banks closed in Nuh today

Haryana government has beefed up security in the district by deploying 1,900 Haryana Police personnel and 24 companies of paramilitary forces at inter-state and inter-district borders keeping in mind the ultimatum given by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and other Hindu organizations to take out Jalabhishek Shobha Yatra again in Nuh city today.

New Delhi: In Haryana’s Nuh today, after the announcement of Hindu organizations taking out a procession, the security system has been tightened, cameras have been installed on every barricade. Despite the authorities denying permission for any rally in the communally sensitive district, Hindu outfits are adamant on carrying out the Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra. Internet services have been stopped in Nuh, along with Section-144 has also been imposed, every vehicle is being stopped and checked.

In view of security, every vehicle going from Sohna toll towards Nuh is being checked, the numbers of vehicles are being noted. People are being told not to go towards Nuh. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has also appealed to the people to perform Jalabhishek in the temples of their area only.

Those who unware, Six people, including two home guards and an imam, were killed in communal clashes in Nuh and its surrounding areas after a mob attacked a Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) visit on July 31. The Sarva Jatiya Hindu Mahapanchayat had given a call on August 28 to re-take out the Brij Mandal Shobha Yatra in Nuh on August 13. VHP has said that Shobha Yatra will be taken out and there is no need to take permission for such religious events.

Police tightened the security in Nuh. The boundaries of the district have been sealed. 675 officers and employees of Haryana Police are manning the front, while three HAP battalions have been set up. Apart from this, thousands of soldiers of paramilitary forces are keeping an eye on every movement in Nuh city.

Police has done barricading even before entering the city. Every action is being monitored by cameras on every barricade. Apart from this, Haryana Police personnel are being allowed to move forward only after stopping every vehicle and checking it. There is complete silence on the streets. If someone forcibly tries to enter Nuh city with his vehicle, then the snow-capped pig is kept with the police personnel at every block to puncture the tyre.

Internet, educational institutions and banks closed in Nuh district today
Taking precautionary measures, the Nuh district administration has ordered closure of educational institutions and banks on Monday. The administration has suspended mobile internet and bulk SMS services. It has also imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC, which prohibits the assembly of four or more people in an area till Monday.

Mentioning of Nuh violence a few weeks ago, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said in Panchkula on Sunday that ‘Yatra’ has not been allowed. He said, “Instead of participating in the yatra, people can go to temples in their respective areas for Jalabhishek.” He said that it is the responsibility of the state government to maintain law and order.” Please tell that the last Monday of the month of Sawan is 28 August i.e. today.
