Faridabad: In a distressing incident at Mujesar in Haryana’s Faridabad, a man was taken into custody by the police for the murder of his live-in partner. Identified as 48-year-old man Baji alias Masaan, the accused was nabbed by the Haryana Police from Fulkia in Bihar.
According to the police, the accused allegedly strangled his partner, recognised as Khushboo, to death with a scarf and spent the night beside her lifeless body. According to information, the accused not only cooked and consumed food but also indulged in alcohol consumption throughout the night while staying with the corpse.
The horrific incident came to fore on April 5 when locals reported a foul smell emanating from a room in a house in Jeevan Nagar. Upon receiving the information, a team from the Sanjay Colony police station rushed to the spot. Upon breaking the lock of the room, they found the body of Khushboo wrapped in a dupatta.
A case has been registered against the accused based on a complaint filed by the landlord. Utilising information obtained from an informant and mobile location data, the Faridabad Police apprehended the accused in Fulkia, Bihar, where he had fled after committing the crime.
Police spokesperson Sube Singh said, “The accused had been living with the woman in a rented house for the past three years, presenting themselves as husband and wife. The accused suspected the woman of infidelity, leading to a confrontation on the evening of April 5, ultimately resulting in her death.”
