Haryanvi singer Raju Punjabi, 40, dies due to prolonged illness; fans offer condolences

New Delhi: Renowned Haryanvi singer Raju Punjabi, who collaborated with popular singer Sapna Choudhary, dies on Tuesday night at the age of 40. He was admitted in a private hospital was undergoing treatment for Jaundice. Due to which liver and lungs got infected. He was on ventilator due to deteriorating health. His health improved during the treatment and he got discharged, however, his health deteriorated, and was admitted again. Singer KD Desi Rock shared Punjabi’s picture from the hospital bed and paid condolences to the singer.

Raju Punjabi’s last rites will be performed in his native village Rawatsar. He currently lived in Azadnagar, Hisar. As soon as the news of his death was received, his relatives and fans started reaching Hisar. On August 12, the deceased singer released his last song Aapse Milke Yaara Humko Accha Laga Tha. He is accredited for songs like Desi Desi, Aacha Lage Se, Tu Cheez Lajawab, Bhang Mere Yaara Ne, and Last Peg among several others. His collaborations with artist Sapna Choudhary have been loved by the audience of all age groups.

He was a familiar face in Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. His songs are popular songs like Solid Body, Sandal, Tu Cheez Lajwab, Desi-Desi. His pairing with Sapna Chowdhary was quite famous. He gave a new identity to the music industry in Haryana. Gave new direction to Haryanvi songs.

Soon after the news of death of famous singer broke out, Raju Punjabi’s fans expressed their shock at losing the artist and paid tribute to him.
