Qazigund: An unexpected incident happened during Amarnath Yatra. A bus carrying pilgrims collided with a truck in Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, the bus was traveling at Srinagar Jammu Highway (Jammu Kashmir), the bus came at a high speed at Qazigund and collided with a truck crossing the road. With this, the truck went forward. Those who were there ran in fear. It is reported that 14 pilgrims were injured in this incident.
All of them were taken to a local hospital. All are safe now. The bus with 40 pilgrims was going towards Baltal base camp when the accident happened. Meanwhile, Amarnath Yatra started after a gap of two years. Last week, many pilgrims were killed in landslides and floods.
The incident was caught on a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera.
Video footage captured the speeding bus colliding into the stationary dump truck as it was trying to take a turn at a crossing. Bystanders were seen running in panic when the crash took place.
On the other hand, the Amarnath Yatra is getting hampered amid the heavy rains that have been falling for a few days. Local staff are not allowing devotees to go on Pahalgam and Baltal routes in Jammu and Kashmir. They seem to have informed the officials of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) that the trip should be temporarily suspended until the rains recede.
