There has been a heavy avalanche reported in Gulmarg of Jammu and Kashmir. Four foreign nationals got trapped in this. While doing relief and rescue work, the administration rescued one person, while the body of another has been recovered. Still two people are feared trapped.
Srinagar: Heavy avalanches have been reported on Wednesday in the upper reaches of Gulmarg Skiing Resort in Jammu and Kashmir. Officials said that there is a possibility of casualties in the avalanche. At the same time, it is also being told that many foreign travelers have also come under the grip of avalanche. Two Polish nationals died and 19 others were rescued.
While doing relief and rescue work, the administration rescued one person, while the body of another has been recovered. Still two people are feared trapped. It is being told that all four were skiing here. All four are said to be foreign nationals.

Regarding the incident, Baramulla police said, “An avalanche has occurred on the Afarwat peak in the famous ski resort of Gulmarg. Baramulla Police along with other agencies have started the rescue operation. So far 19 foreign nationals have been rescued successfully. Dead bodies of 2 foreign nationals recovered being shifted to hospital for medico legal procedure.”
