BJP workers and leaders were forbidden to assemble on this occasion. Earlier today at 3.30 am, Heeraben had passed away. She was admitted to the hospital in Ahmedabad. Earlier, PM Modi paid tribute to the mother by tweeting. He tweeted that the glorious century rests at the feet of God… In mother I have always felt that trinity, which contains the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless karma yogi and a life committed to values.

In view of the demise of his mother Heeraben Modi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the programs scheduled in West Bengal through video conferencing on Friday.
At the same time, Heeraben’s family has made an emotional appeal. On behalf of the family, it has been said that we are thankful to all of you for your prayers during this difficult time. It is our humble request to all to keep the departed soul in your thoughts and continue with your pre-scheduled programme. This will be a true tribute to Heeraben.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed grief at the death and said that “the death of a mother is an unbearable and irreparable loss”.
“Saddened by the passing away of Hira Ben, mother of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The death of a mother is an unbearable and irreparable loss. No one in the world can take the place of mother,” Nitish Kumar tweeted.
“I pray to God to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his family members to bear patience in this hour of grief,” he added.
